All our foundation dogs have come direct from rural China as we feel it is important to learn about the breed from people that have owned them for many years, where the knowledge and experience of living with these unique dogs is passed down through many generations of the same family. The Chuandong Hound is still highly valued by their owners as a scent hunting hound, natural selection over more than 2000 years, with the only criteria being that each generation is able to do the required work is keeping the breed ‘Fit for Purpose’ …

We will continue to search out dogs that are as close as possible to the breed standard published by the China Kennel Union in 2018.
