My Biography & Breed promotion

Over the last 40 years I have owned and bred various breeds competing in a range of  activities including competitive obedience up to championship level, sheepdog trialling and more recently (2004 – 2018) breeding showing and exporting quality Dogue de Bordeauxs who have gone on to gain many champion titles World wide, as well as becoming the foundation Dogues for other kennels enabling them to go on to have great success.

Over this time I have routinely health tested all my dogs, I will use my experience gained over four decades to promote this ancient and unique breed giving it the best possible foundation in the U.K.

I do the updates for this website myself, I will do my best to keep it up to date with any news here @ Cymrygold as well as how the breed as a whole is progressing in the U.K. As far as I am aware this is the only website available that is dedicated to the Chuandong Hound.

Please make regular visits to keep up to date with how the breed is developing in the U.K. Thank you.

U.K. Chuandong Hound Club - Established 2017

We set up the Club as another way to promote the breed to as many people as possible, the club’s Ethics and Constitution are in line with the U.K. Kennel Club.

All owners of Chuandong Hounds in the U.K. are associate members of the Club as well as people who have developed an interest in the breed. There will be no Club fees until the Breed is added to the Import Register!

The Club has a Group, with 300+ members (Aug 2020) off our main Facebook page.   *New members are always welcome*

Breed Promotion in the UK

I use social media and this website to spread the word to as many people as possible about these spectacular dogs I have also had articles published in magazines the one below, in the July 2019 issue of  ‘Dogs Monthly’ was the Fourth over the last three years, with an article in my local newspaper and an item on the ITV Wales News program in February 2019 we are giving people plenty of opportunity to discover the breed.

In response to these publications it soon became clear that people wanted to meet the dogs in person, which is why we attended Five ‘Dog Festivals’ in 2018, followed by  Five ‘Dog Days’ in 2019 which were more local to where we live in beautiful West Wales, the response to the dogs has been incredible a bit over whelming on occasions! with many people asking which events we will be going to next?

Due to the situation we are in regarding Covid 19, all of the events we had planned on attending in 2020 have been cancelled!
